On this particular Friday afternoon, MWC member Deborah DeBerardinis read the timeless classic, "The Little Engine That Could" by Watty Piper. The lesson learned through the telling of the story was, that if you believe in yourself, you may just be able to accomplish what you thought you couldn't. "I think I can, I think I can" became "I thought I could, I thought I could". The Moultonborough Women’s Club has teamed up with the Moultonborough Public Library (NH) to read to children on Friday afternoons. Last Tuesday, these newbies learned correct racket handling, how to “stay out of the kitchen”, and maybe learned how to score (complicated). Instructor Rick Hassler did his best instructing everyone that the pickleball actually does not bounce that well and you have to go to it as it will not come to you! Instruction will continue to go on ongoing Thursday mornings from 9:30 AM-11 AM, joining in on the beginner group lessons at Gilford Hills Tennis and Fitness Club. It is only $20/lesson. If you are interested in learning, plan on attending!

MWC Ladies Play Pickleball

The MWC ladies headed over to the community room at the Moultonborough Fire Rescue building for an afternoon of soothing music, chocolate and mandala rock painting. Who knew that painting circles on rocks could be so soothing?! Everyone went home with one or two uniquely painted Mandala rocks to put on a special shelf, with a houseplant or in a zen garden. Thanks for teaching the class, MWC member Mary Bishop.
