The Friends of the Moultonborough Public Library, which included MWC members (some shown in red shirts and white aprons) filled 6 long tables chock full of rich, chocolate treats for the annual “Chocolate Fare” with proceeds benefiting the Moultonborough Public Library (NH). With the event being held the day before Valentine’s Day, it was no surprise that they had a terrific turnout. Many MWC members were in attendance. You could fill a box to take home for only $5! Incredible.The MWC had many members show up at the event this year and the MWC members will definitely be returning to this delectable event next year. MWC Pop Up ~ Chocolate Fare

On an unseasonably warm Saturday, with one if the prettiest of skies, the MWC ladies dined out at the rustic Carriage House at Castle in the Clouds. The view across Lake Winnipesaukee to Gunstock and the Belknap mountain range was spectacular. With the light streaming through the clouds, it became abundantly clear why the historic Lucknow homestead is called “Castle in the Clouds.”The food, well let’s just say there was nothing remaining on the plates. MWC Ladies Dine Out ~ Castle in the Clouds

They completed the 2 mile loop trail, which is part of the 763-acre forest in Meredith. There are seven popular trails of varying lengths from which to choose. Lots of wildlife, waterfalls and streams; depending upon the season. It’s just great to get outside in the winter to experience snowshoe/micro-spike hiking on these trails. If you are a current MWC member and would like details on upcoming hikes, let us know. It’s always an enjoyable and rewarding time.

Each month the Moultonborough Women’s Club chooses a local charity that could use our assistance and then we call upon our membership to help out to meet their needs. For the February meeting, we asked MWC members to bring in food staples to be donated to the the Lakes Region Food Pantry &amp; Thrift Shop because “No one should have an empty plate.” And, oh my, you brought the food staples! The heaping, overflowing grocery bags filled the table at the food pantry. Bob McSorley, of the LRFP, expressed deep appreciation for all the donations. The food will go to good use in serving the food needs of those in our local communities. Thank you all for your kind generosity.
