We’re very excited to see the enthusiasm and creative energy they each bring to the position. Get ready to see lots of “new happenings” added to the calendar in the next few months! At the next meeting, be sure to introduce yourself and thank Mary and Jan for stepping up into this important club position.

The MWC ladies headed over to the community room at the Moultonborough Fire Rescue building for an afternoon of soothing music, chocolate and mandala rock painting. Who knew that painting circles on rocks could be so soothing?! Everyone went home with one or two uniquely painted Mandala rocks to put on a special shelf, with a houseplant or in a zen garden. Thanks for teaching the class, MWC member Mary Bishop. This worthwhile organization is highlighted in the article and is worthy of a read. Applaud these women. And they are not alone. So many of our members give and give, then give even more. They are shining examples of making the world a better place. They volunteer at historical societies, places of religious celebration, community outreach programs, political action groups, school functions, libraries, veterans organizations and rotary clubs. They donate food to help end food insecurity and raise funds to help end breast cancer. They create ornaments to bring cheer to the elderly and knit hats to keep their community neighbors warm. They devote countless hours of service by sitting on non-profit boards all while being devoted wives and mothers to their families at home. And they bake like crazy to raise funds for scholarships to make college more affordable for local students. MWC members are truly the unsung heros that walk among us. MWC members are not the exception to the rule, but define the rule of, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Should this caring mindset of unbridled philanthropy resonate with you, please join us and/or support us. Your investment of time and/or money is well spent. The women of Moultonborough Women’s Club are a positive force for the better in the Lakes Region and beyond.

We can attest that her rosemary cheddar scones are superb; although you can’t go wrong with choosing anything in the baking display case. To tell you the truth, it’s just nice to get out of the house and share a nice warm cup of coffee and conversation with other women from around the lake, hear everyone’s stories of what brought them to the area and find shared interests. When so many of us are transplants from other regions, it’s nice to know that we can make new friendships in this neck of the woods. We had a record turnout this month with 18 women in attendance. There were some long time members along with some newbies. We played a little musical chairs, as some of us mixed and mingled to meet the first timers. So glad everyone came out!

The weather seemed to be a mild 32 degrees; mainly because, while cloudy, the sun was out for almost the entire hike. Looking to the east, the view of Meredith Bay and Lake Winnipesaukee from the top was well worth the effort. Coming down was a little more challenging with muddy and icy spots, but certainly navigable with care. Microspikes and poles were key to staying upright! MWC Hiking Group ~ Lockes Hill Trail

The Friends of the Moultonborough Public Library, which included MWC members (some shown in red shirts and white aprons) filled 6 long tables chock full of rich, chocolate treats for the annual “Chocolate Fare” with proceeds benefiting the Moultonborough Public Library (NH). With the event being held the day before Valentine’s Day, it was no surprise that they had a terrific turnout. Many MWC members were in attendance. You could fill a box to take home for only $5! Incredible.The MWC had many members show up at the event this year and the MWC members will definitely be returning to this delectable event next year.
