Many happy recipients in March. Thank you to all the bakers and these lovely ladies who put together these overflowing tray of goodies!

We were welcomed with a choice of beverage followed by appetizers; a choice of tortilla soup or Mexican corn salad. There were four entrees; shrimp tacos, beef fajitas, fried chicken or jackfruit tamales in steamer. Dessert was a sugary delight pecan square. All were delicious. If you can manage to get a reservation there, definitely do so. Eleven satisfied customers from the Moultonborough Women’s Club! Thank you Sheila McCleery for organizing the lunch date for us. We can hardly wait for the Greek dining experience planned for our April Ladies Dine Out.

MWC Ladies Dine Out ~ The Community Table

They don’t mind sharing their space with more players and they never know who’s going to show up!

These women seek out where they can make a difference and are relentless in their support of lifting people up. At the March meeting, the MWC put out the call to all their members to support the New Hampshire Veterans Home by donating to their Sunshine Cart. The Sunshine Cart provides a wide selection of personal care items to the Veterans Home residents at no cost to them. And in true MWC fashion, the women were glad to help our veterans. MWC member Karen Wright collected the donations, organized, boxed then delivered and filled the Sunshine Cart. This truly will bring a little sunshine to the veterans’ day. We were humbled to help out. And there’s always one rule enforcer in the group and everyone knows who it is in this group! Come play Mexican train dominoes with these ladies on Friday mornings at 10 AM at Identity Coffee Co. in Meredith. Just be sure to give Gayle Russell a “heads up” so she can plan to have enough tiles for everyone. So. Much. Fun.

These smaller get-togethers, outside of the large monthly meetings, truly gives everyone the opportunity to learn more about each other. We learn about where each other came from, what brought them to the area, about their professions, family and shared outside interests. It often leads to individually making plans with someone to connect outside the group. It also helps to strengthen our bonds in the community as we support small businesses like The Boro Baking Co.! If you are a MWC member, think about joining us next month, if you haven’t had a chance to do so yet. It’s very informal. Next month we’re heading out to breakfast at The Village Kitchen. Join us!
