Mitten Tree
The 'Mitten Tree' at Meredith Savings Bank in Moultonborough is a testament to the generosity of the ladies of the MWC, embodying the true spirit of Christmas. This charitable endeavor is a hallmark of the ladies' community-focused initiatives.
Janet Schurko, Sharon Patton and Wendy Monbouquette enjoyed decorating the MVSB Moultonborough branch Christmas tree with 162 warm and colorful hats, mittens, scarves, ear warmers and socks. These items were handmade or purchased by the ladies of the Moultonborough Women’s Club. The bank matches the Club’s donation with $2 per item. That money will then be donated to the End 68 Hours of Hunger and Got Lunch! programs in the communities around the Lake.
Our contribution of hats, etc. will stay in Moultonborough and benefit children in day cares, nursery and pre-schools, the Central School and Middle and High Schools. The Food Pantry will also be included in providing these items to children in town.
