The Moultonborough Women’s Club is gearing up for another year full of interesting local speakers, fun activities, friendship and, of course, dedicated support to local students and charities. The Club has awarded over $237,000 to deserving Moultonborough students since 1960 and donated to local charities like the Moultonborough Food Pantry, Starting Point and the Granite State VNA.As always, the year kicked off with a BYO luncheon at the Geneva Point Center featuring the beloved Coffee Can Auction which raised over $700. The Club will continue to meet the first Monday of every month through May at the Moultonborough Function Hall to enjoy fellowship and interesting speakers from local organizations. In October, Mark Ishkanian and Pat Tarpey from the Lake Winnipesaukee Association will be giving a presentation on cyanobacteria in the lake.In addition to the monthly meetings, there are so many different activities to choose from and different ways to get involved including dining out, service opportunities, book club, crafting, travel and more. "What a gorgeous day yesterday to have the annual September meeting of the MWC at Geneva Point Center. The room was filled with laughter and great conversations after a brief summer break, because let's be real, we all needed a nap. As always the Hostess set a lovely table filled with goodies to enjoy by all, and by goodies, I mean the calories we've been avoiding all summer. Thank you to those who made it happen. The Activities Table was surrounded by an influx of sign-uppers to join in the many fun and inspiring events on the calendar, because who doesn't love a good excuse to get out of the house? A huge thank you to Joelle Casey for the cool and very artistic board of activities she created, it was almost too pretty to use. Ways and Means committee lead by Sharon Paton and crew table(s) displayed numerous and fun items for the coffee can auction, including the infamous blueberry lemon cake baked by Kathy, which I'm pretty sure was the real reason everyone showed up. Big shout out to Chair, Leslie Ann Angelo and her committee for getting the handbooks out for the year with its new design, because who doesn't love a good handbook? So much work and an incredible amount of time delivered by so many women to make this Club the huge success it is, and by huge success, I mean we didn't burn down the building, so that's a win. As the saying goes it takes a Village, and by village, I mean a bunch of crazy women who somehow make it work. September Meeting at Geneva Point

“Pick Your Own Flowers” at Moulton Farm

"The Bearcamp Center's summer camp program wrapped up its 5th year. &nbsp;We had 157 campers working with 21 counselors, building forts, exploring woodshop, cooking over campfires, flying kites, exploring the creatures of Jackman Pond, creating, running, laughing, meeting new friends, and eating wholesome food.We have a lot of fun running this camp and are grateful to all the folks who donated toward camperships, making it possible for us to support all families with affordable summer childcare/programs, especially in light of this year's state cuts to summer programming support for our poorest families. &nbsp;We're thankful to the Tamworth Foundation, Sandwich Children and Youth Fund, Ossipee Children's Fund, Children Unlimited, Moultonborough Women's Club, the Schifrin Foundation, Lakes Region Food Pantry and Thrift Shop, and the tax payers of Tamworth for their contributions supporting working families. &nbsp;Thanks to the Town of Tamworth for working on safety plans to ensure that our systems work smoothly and safely. &nbsp;Our collaboration with Tamworth Rec and Sandwich Rec made it possible to offer 450+ swimming lessons to campers: &nbsp;wow! &nbsp;We are appreciative to the KA Brett School for offering their summer tutoring onsite so our Tamworth campers could easily participate in camp and meet their summer school needs. &nbsp;Thanks to all who donated materials and supplies; we pride ourselves on being thrifty with a "use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without" attitude.We're grateful to all our neighbors and passersby who slowed as they drove by, watchful for campers crossing.If I've inadvertently forgotten you on this list, please know it wasn't intentional. &nbsp;It may seem like The Bearcamp Center offers this camp, but it is truly the work of our entire community. &nbsp;You're the best!"
