“Wear your PINK” was the call out from Deb Kumpf and Nancy McDonough as the Moultonborough Woman’s Club team gathered on a warm October afternoon for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. Sixteen walkers collected over $7,200 in donations last month for the American Cancer Society, making this ambitious group the 7th highest fundraising team in all New Hampshire for this year. Over the last 25 years, club members have raised over $148,000 for this worthy cause. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

The Moultonborough Women’s Club has named Janet Schurko the recipient of the 2021 Woman of the Year Award. Her sweet spirit and compassion has led her to devote her time and efforts to serving others in various capacities for the community. She has been a valuable asset as chair of the Remembrance Committee and has spread her kindness to club members, nursing home residents, Meals on Wheels homebound recipients and at the local veteran’s home with notes, home made cards and messages of comfort and encouragement. &nbsp; Christmas time has seen Janet managing the club’s holiday gift projects for area children and she has led a team in making ornaments for the club’s beautifully decorated contribution to Altrusa’s Festival of Trees events. Janet organizes a talented group of knitters and crocheters for the Meredith Savings Bank’s Mitten Tree project, herself knitting many hats, scarves and mittens. Janet Schurko named MWC’s 2021 Woman of the Year

"The Moultonborough Women’s Club has come through once again, adding 176 items to our already full mitten tree. Members of the club begin work in the summer hand knitting items for our tree, in what is annual event for them. Members arrived with hand-knit and purchased items, including 90 hats, 31 mittens, 50 gloves, and 5 scarves. Mitten Tree

The halls were truly decked in holiday greenery as the members of the Moultonborough Women’s Club brought their voices together in harmony to sing Deck the Halls and other merry carols as Deb Kumpf led a singalong at the December meeting. The members donned festive sweaters in the spirit of the season and an assortment of holiday treats provided by this month’s hostess committee was enjoyed after a delicious luncheon. The Waypoint program and the Moultonborough Children’s Christmas Fund were the designated gift organizations for the month. MWC was in the holiday spirit!

Adopt a Spot!
