MWC in May
Thank you to the Moultonborough residents for their contributions on May 11th; $528 was collected for the Scholarship Fund. On July 10th, the MWC will resume their bake sale at the Library’s annual book sale. Scrumptious goodies will be available with proceeds going directly to the scholarship program.
MWC’s June meeting will be an in-person event at the Sandwich Fair Grounds. The annual Installation of Officers Ceremony and presentation of the Woman of the Year Award will be held (socially distant) under the pavilion.

Eileen McNamara led an enthusiastic discussion via ZOOM at the May meeting on her latest book, Eunice: The Kennedy Who Changed the World. The biography outlines the life of Eunice Kennedy Shriver, one of the less publicized Kennedys. Eunice’s devotion to her sister, Rosemary, and her dedication to civil justice for those with physical and intellectual disabilities helped propel the family’s charitable work into a significant movement in research and advocacy. Eileen explained how a day camp Eunice began in 1963 led to the founding of the Special Olympics. This author is a truly remarkable woman in her own right, Eileen is a professor in Journalism at Brandeis University and won a Pulitzer Prize for Commentary while working for the Boston Globe.
