MWC

The Moultonborough Women’s Club recently and joyfully celebrated its 75th anniversary at a transformed Moultonborough Function Hall. The first transformation was due to the new sound system (complete with wireless microphones and mounted speakers!), retractable projection screen and lectern that the MWC donated to the town for all to use. The second transformation, due to the incredibly festive decorations with attention given to every detail right down to the diamonds strewn across the tables, came thanks to Anniversary committee headed by co-presidents Libby Reichlen and Joanne Wilhelm.

Creativity exploded at every turn from the commemorative buttons, honoree sashes and decade fans “easily” put together by Joelle Casey to Janice Bogasky’s photo montage to Kathy Garry’s mouth-watering cake! Incoming co-vice president Sara Prouty was the master of ceremonies for a fun Eras-style tour of the MWC’s decades, complete with members in period dress, dancing to the music of the day. It was an awesome celebration of an extraordinary group of women and the contributions they have made to our community over the years including regular donations to local charities, over $237,000 awarded in scholarships and $174,000 raised for the American Cancer Society in the fight against breast cancer. Check out the incredible video of the festivities by Kristin Brown!
