Janet Schurko named MWC’s 2021 Woman of the Year

The Moultonborough Women’s Club has named Janet Schurko the recipient of the 2021 Woman of the Year Award. Her sweet spirit and compassion has led her to devote her time and efforts to serving others in various capacities for the community. She has been a valuable asset as chair of the Remembrance Committee and has spread her kindness to club members, nursing home residents, Meals on Wheels homebound recipients and at the local veteran’s home with notes, home made cards and messages of comfort and encouragement.
 
Christmas time has seen Janet managing the club’s holiday gift projects for area children and she has led a team in making ornaments for the club’s beautifully decorated contribution to Altrusa’s Festival of Trees events. Janet organizes a talented group of knitters and crocheters for the Meredith Savings Bank’s Mitten Tree project, herself knitting many hats, scarves and mittens.
