UPDATE: June Jamboree Fundraiser on June 8

• Plans are moving along for our upcoming June Jamboree Fundraiser!! It will be held at the Ciardi’s Cider Barn and Car Barn on Moultonborough Neck Rd. It wil be a “Taste of New Hampshire” including food stations, live music, antique and hot rod cars, a live auction and lots of silent auction items.

• Committees are already working and WE NEED HELP ON THE FOOD & ENTERTAINMENT COMMITTEE and BUSINESS SPONSORSHIP COMMITTEES

• Local Members and Snow Birds alike, reach out to Co-Chairs Janice Bogasky and Karen Ciardi and they will match your talents to a committee that works for you.  Call a friend and spend some time working together  this Spring for this fun event.

• Tickets will be sold to members only (up to 2 per member) from April 1 – April 15 at a cost of $40 per ticket.  Starting on April 16, tickets will be available to the public.  You can buy tickets:

o At the April meeting – cash/checks (made out to MWC)

o Online – starting on April 1

There will be lots of signups at the April meeting so bring your checkbook/cash.

• June Luncheon - June 3 at the Barn on the Pemi in Plymouth

o Cost is $40 – checks can be made out to MWC

o Be prepared to choose your entrée and which friends you would like to sit with

• MWC Dues - $30.  Checks should be made out to MWC

• Tickets for the June Jamboree – June 8

o Cost is $40 per ticket (max of 2) for the June Jamboree.  Checks should be made out to MWC

• Hostess signup for 2024–2025 at the meeting or send your first and second month choices to Tracy.  The months of May and September are reserved for snowbirds, with September slots available to our members who are unable to handle the physical set up and clean up tasks at other meetings.

May 14 bake sale at the town elections.  We need bakers and helpers!! All proceeds go to the Scholarship Fund.

We’re Looking For a Few Good People

Given the continued growth of the Club and other factors, we would like to explore our meeting format. Do we want to keep it the same or make changes and what changes would we make? We are creating a task force to explore options and make recommendations. Should you be interested in working on this task force, reach out to either Joanne or Libby.

MWC Charitable Works 

The MWC has 150 members from towns in the Lakes Region and promotes community, educational and social activities and actively support community needs in the Moultonborough area.   

Charitable Activity:

  • Awarded over $216,000 in scholarships for deserving Moultonborough students
  • Raised over $160,000 for the American Cancer Society by participating in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk  
  • Supports the Children’s Christmas Trust by donating Christmas gifts for Moultonborough children
  • Our “Charity of the Month” provides food, personal products, toys, supplies and other items to local groups in need including:  

o   David’s House, Lebanon, NH, Waypoint Family Resource Center, Laconia, Starting Point, Lakes Region Food Pantry, Veterans Home Sunshine Cart 

  • Annually donates in excess of $2000 to local charities including:

o   Interlakes Community Care Givers, Lakes Region Food Pantry, Granite VNA, Carroll County Retired & Senior Volunteer Program, Circle Program, Ossipee Concerned Citizens, Starting Point, Lakes Region VNA, Winnipesaukee Wellness Center

  • Contributes to the Meredith Village Savings Bank’s Mitten Tree by making / buying mittens and hats for local families  
  • Read stories to young children at the library

  • Thanks to everyone who baked and helped at our Muffin Sale at the recent School Board meeting!  We know it takes a village and with that village, we made over $800; all of which goes directly into our Scholarship Fund. A special thanks to Jayne Savage for coordinating this event.
  • We’re excited to announce that Wendy Monbouquette has agreed to be Co-VP along with Jayne Savage.  We will vote for Wendy and the complete slate of officers at our May meeting.

Important news about our June 8 Spring Fundraiser - June Jamboree

Plans are moving along for our upcoming June Jamboree – our Spring Fundraiser. It will be held at the Ciardi’s Cider Barn and Car Barn on Moultonborough Neck Rd. A “Taste of New Hampshire” including food stations, live music, antique and hot rod cars, a live auction and lots of silent auction items.

Planning for this event will be a lot of fun and we need everyone’s help to be successful – we have big goals. Come to committee meetings being held on Wednesday, March 20 at the Moultonborough Library:

9:00 - 10:00    Music/Entertainment

10:00 – 11:00   Food/Drink

11:00 – 11:45   Business Sponsorship

11:45 - 12:15    Ticket Sales/Advertising

12:15 – 1:00     Silent/Live Auction

1:00 – 1:30     Set-up/Decorating

There will be plenty to do in April and May,  so if you can’t make it to the meeting, let co-chairs Janice Bogasky and Karen Ciardi know what committee you would like to be part of and the committee chair will be in touch with you.

  • Nominations for Woman of the Year.  This is awarded to a member whose exceptional leadership, dedication and service has made a significant impact within the club and community. Please forward your recommendations, including your reason for the nomination to Libby or Joanne    
  • Our Nominating Committee is hard at work filling a Corresponding Secretary position for the coming year. Please consider sharing your talents with the MWC Board of Directors – this ensures that the important work that our Club does to benefit our community continues!  For more info, contact Pam King, Tracy Webster-Babcock or Jane Smits.
